Rehberg, House Pass Unemployment Extension, Housing Tax Credit
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, this week voted for a 14-week extension of unemployment insurance benefits for Montana and a 5-month extension of the $8,000 first-time homebuyers tax credit. Rehberg has cosponsored legislation to dramatically increase the homebuyers tax credit to $15,000 and make it available to all homebuyers.
“The benefits of the homebuyers tax credit have been measured throughout Montana and the country. And until we get the economy healthy again, unemployment insurance will continue to play a vital short-term role to alleviate economic hardship.”
